Donna M. Meyer, 71, of Wellsburg, Iowa, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at her home, of natural causes.

Donna was born April 25, 1930, near Wellsburg, Iowa in Grundy County, the daughter of Siebe and Nantje (Riekena) Meyer. She graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1947. In 1952, Donna enlisted in the United States Army, in occupied Japan. While enlisted, she then was transferred to Washington D. C. Donna was honorably discharged in 1958 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. She then began working for the United States Government in Washington, D. C., for the Department of Health Services, in their accounting department, living there until the late 1960's. Donna then moved to Kansas City, Missouri, continuing to work for the Department of Health Services. After retiring in 1985, Donna moved back to Wellsburg.

Donna was instrumental in helping to set up the Wellsburg Historical Society House. She enjoyed helping senior citizens in Wellsburg. She loved watching baseball. She was a member of the Wellsburg Community Betterment Group, and she attended church services at the United Reformed Church.

Survivors include three sisters; Minnie Taffinder-Harlan of Wellsburg, Iowa; Eva Widmann of Mesa, Arizona; Clareen Baehr and her husband Robert of Bella Vista, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers Clarence, Harley, and Edward Meyer; three sisters, Clara Meyer, Freda Boelman, and Gertie DeNeui.
