Mrs. Julius (Etta) Heikens, 59, passed away on Friday, May 26, 1978 at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton.
Funeral services for Mrs. Heikens were held Monday, May 29, 1978 at the First Christian Reformed Church in Wellsburg with Rev. Leslie Kuiper and Rev. Ronald De Young officiating. Soloist was Richard Schafer who sang "My God and I" and "Each Step I Take". Elizabeth Eekhoff was organist. Pall bearers were Terry Deters, David Eekhoff, Eldon Nederhoff, Rollin Primus, Ron Klassen and Steven Hook. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Heikens was born on December 18, 1918. She was baptized on April 6, 1919 at the First Christian Reformed Church. She transferred her membership from the First Christian Reformed Church to the Iowa Falls Christian Reformed Church on October 14, 1947.
She was united in marriage to Julius J. Heikens on February 24, 1943. To this union five daughters and one son were born.
Those who survive are her husband, Julius; four daughters, Mrs. Jerome (Phyllis) Robinson of Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Clifton (Lavonne) Johnson of Clarksville; Mrs. Jerry (Linda) Burkley of Geneva, and Mrs. Harlan (Diane) VanderGriende of Chicago, Illinois, a son, Jerry of Ackley; six grandchildren, her mother, Mrs. O. O. Nederhoff of Wellsburg; five sisters, Mrs. Fred Luppen, Mrs. Harold Eekhoff, Mrs. Rodney Deters, and Mrs. Al Blythe of Wellsburg and Mrs. Claus Primus of Steamboat Rock; three brothers, Edward, Carl and Willis Nederhoff of Wellsburg.
Preceding the deceased in death were an infant daughter; Judy Elaine who died June 21, 1944 and her father, Oldig O. Nederhoff who died December 17, 1969.
