Gone to Rest

The sudden and unexpected death of Mrs. John Yelderks Tuesday noon of last week, cast a gloom over this community. She had been ill all summer but at the time of her death was considerably improved and able to be about the house. She sat down to the dinner table Tuesday and waited for her husband to bring the things from the cellar before beginning to eat. When he came up from the cellar she was in a dying condition and lived only a few minutes. Consumption was the cause. The physician was summoned but she breathed her last just before he arrived.

The funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 19, at ten-thirty o'clock a.m., at the Presbyterian church, Rev. Shaffer, assisted by Rev. Everts, officiating. A large number of friends were present to sympathize with the bereaved ones and follow the remains of their dear one to her last resting place. Deceased was a devoted member of the Reformed Presbyterian church in Pleasant Valley township. She was born October 12, 1855, at Simons, Walde, Hanover, Germany, and died October 15th, 1895. Her maiden name was Weike Muller. She leaves to mourn her death her devoted husband, with whom she spent about twenty happy years; her aged father, J. H. Muller of German township; three brothers, Hiko, Hike, and Klaus Muller, all of this county. Her mother and only sister had preceded her to the better land. The bereaved friends are grateful for the assistance rendered them at her death and burial. They have the sympathy of the entire community.
