Rosa, wife of Sherman Porter, died at her home in Lincoln township, Tuesday morning, May 28, 1895, at 8 o'clock.

Rosa Keyser was born in Blackhawk county, May 12, 1872, and was 23 years and 16 days old at the time of her death. She was married October 23d, 1889, to Mr. Sherman Porter, who, with a daughter of four summers, is left to mourn her early death. Deceased was a resident of Blackhawk county until the spring of 1886 when she came to this county. She was a sufferer from consumption for over two years and spent one year in Colorado hoping that it might restore her former good health, but it was of no avail and death claimed her. Funeral services were held in the Congregational church of Reinbeck Thursday forenoon and were attended by many relatives and friends. She was a faithful member of that church and died as she had lived, trusting in Jesus. The following relatives were present at the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. Frey, Miss Keyser and Mrs. Snyder of Waterloo; Messrs. Samuel and Joseph Keyser and Mr. and Mrs. Coleman of Green Mountain, and Mrs. Sharp of Wisconsin.
