-----------------------------------------------

Died, at Morrison, Iowa, Feb. 11, 1895, of typhoid-malaria fever, Mrs. Eva A. Hoxie Morrison, wife of Mr. L. J. Morrison.

Mrs. Morrison was born in Grundy county, Iowa, Sept. 1, 1858, and she was at the time of her death 36 years, 5 months, and 13 days of age. On Feb. 7, 1874, she was united in marriage to her now bereaved husband. With the exception of about five years, she has lived her entire life on the farm where she was born. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband and four children, and one sister, Mrs. Kessler. Her father departed this life two years ago last April, and her mother and only brother went home some thirty years ago.

She and her husband were converted about ten years ago in the M. E. church at Grundy Center, under the pastoral care of Rev. W. A. Pottle, and has ever since lived an every day christian life and through all her sickness she would tell her husband God would take care of her every day. A few nights before passing away she said, "I never received such a blessing in all my life, every thing seems so light."

No one will ever be missed in the home more than she. As a dear loving wife and mother, always of such a cheerful and loving disposition, she was loved by all who knew her. Her place in the home can never be filled.

She and her husband held membership with the M. E. church at Grundy Center for nearly ten years until last September when they united with the M. E. church at Morrison. They left their farm last September and came to Morrison hoping she would have less work and better opportunity to educate their children. But alas! she is gone. But she is at rest with her loved ones and her blessed Savior.

The funeral was largely attended at the M. E. church in Grundy Center, on Wednesday, Feb. 13th, 1895. The sermon was preached from 1 Cor. 15:56, 57: "The sting of death is sin," etc., by Rev. W. S. Skinner, now pastor of the M. E. church at the M. E. church at Dysart, Iowa, and who performed the ceremony that made her the wife of him who now mourns her loss. Rev. C. E. Logsdon, her pastor in Morrison, and Rev. B. D. Smith, pastor of the Grundy Center church, assisted in the services, and burial took place in the Fairview cemetery just west of Grundy Center, there to await the trumpet call on the resurrection morn.
