Died, at his residence, a mile south of Hickory Grove, October 3, David Wilson, aged 60 years and 3 months.

Mr. Wilson had been afflicted with malignant ulceration of the stomach for some time, the walls of this organ being entirely eaten away in two places, one quite large. The deceased was born in Clay county, Kentucky, June 21, 1832. He moved from the place of his birth to Henry county, Iowa, in 1835. Here he resided forty years, after which he came to Grundy county. Mr. Wilson was married to Catherine Perine in February 1857. Ten children were born to them, of whom five sons and three daughters are now living. Mrs. Wilson died in 1881. Mr. Wilson was an unusually strong man, but his body was much wasted by his disease. He was a loving husband and kind and indulgent father. He died believing in his Saviour, through whose merits he expected to enter the better world where he would join his christian wife and departed children. The funeral was held on Wednesday, October 5th. Over forty carriages were in the procession from the house to the Alice church. The sermon was preached by J. W. Allen, pastor of the Baptist church of Grundy Center. The body was interred in the cemetery near the church, where it awaits the resurrection.
