Mrs. Stella Sweet-Herme was born Sept. 4, 1887 near Garden City, and passed away at the Eldora hospital Tuesday afternoon, April 23 following a very severe operation following an illness lasting several months.

She was married to Morris G. Herme February 17, 1909 in Melrose township, Grundy county. Most of her life has been spent in Hardin and Grundy counties with the exception of three years that were spent in Madrid, Iowa. Mrs. Herme was an active member in the Rebekah lodge here. She was a kind wife and a loving mother.

Besides her husband she is survived by one son Claire, also a sister and four brothers; Mrs. Nellie Kinney, George and William Sweet of this place, Walter of Iowa Falls and Edward L. of Omaha, Nebr.

Funeral services are being held this afternoon at the Methodist church and burial will be made in the Benson cemetery near Whitten.
