Mrs. John Sietsema passed away at 3:15 a.m., Thursday, June 6th, at her home in Wellsburg following a lingering illness. She reached the age of 63 years, 5 months and 4 days.

Agnes J. Jensen was born on a farm near New Hartford on January 2nd, 1905, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Jensen. She spent her childhood at New Hartford. After graduating from New Hartford High School, she attended college at Cedar Falls. She began teaching in rural schools. For the past 13 years she was teaching second grade at the Steamboat Rock Community School. In her lifetime she spent 20 years in the teaching profession which she was devoted to. During these years she attended many night school classes to keep up her education.

On Feb. 26, 1927, she was united in marriage to John Sietsema in the Methodist Church at Cedar Falls by the Rev. Culver. Following their marriage they lived on a farm near Aredale, later moving to Wellsburg where she spent the rest of her life. To this union was born one daughter, Joyce, Mrs. Carroll Stahl of Wellsburg.

Her Christian life began at the Methodist Church in New Hartford of which she became a member. She later transferred to the Pleasant Valley E. U. B. Church. After moving from the farm to Wellsburg in 1951 she joined the Wellsburg Reformed Church on May 9, 1952 by transfer of membership.

She was a kind and loving mother always seeking to help others. Many expressions of love were shown to her small family. Also many children along the years benefited from her careful and considerate help.

Preceding her in death were her parents, 2 brothers, Nels and William Jensen.

Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, one daughter, Joyce, her son-in-law Carroll Stahl, 3 grandchildren, Bruce, Brenda and Janet Stahl, 3 sisters; Mrs. Alfred Barrett of Cedar Falls; Mrs. Ray Hutting of Winnebago, Ill.; Mrs. Irl Bausman of Wellsburg, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 8, at 1:15 p.m. at the Doyen Funeral Home and at 1:30 p.m. at the Wellsburg Reformed Church. Rev. Gideon Wolbrink was officiating clergyman. Mrs. W. D. Murray was soloist and was accompanied on the organ by Miss Marcella Neessen. Pall bearers were James Potgeter, Harold Aukes, Leslie Hoodjer, Don Rhoads, Ray Tayler and Wilbert Butters. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
