Obituary
Irvin Dale, son of Mr. and Mrs. Linn Doak, was born March 14, 1926, and died August 20, aged 21 years, 5 months, 20 days, at the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown. Irvin had been suffering for a week with a severe throat infection, but had seemed better after a day at the hospital.

Irvin's life was short but a very full one. He had spent one year in the service of his country and during that time was stationed at Manila. He returned home on Easter Sunday in time to attend the morning services with the family.

Irvin was of a jovial nature and could always see the bright side of life. His life was as a ray of sunshine to his family and to all who knew him. He was a member of the First Methodist church of Grundy Center.

Besides his parents, he leaves to mourn his departure three brothers, Lyle, Johnny and Carroll, and two sisters, Mrs. Walter Graves and Mrs. Richard Loverin of Marshalltown, and a host of friends. One sister, Dorothy Marie, preceded him in death.
