Rites Held For Alyce Lindaman

Funeral services for Alyce M. Lindaman were held at the Second Christian Reformed Church, Wellsburg, on Saturday, February 25, 1989, at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend H. Charles Kooger officiated.

Mrs. Dale Heetland sang "One Day At A Time" and "Open Thy Merciful Arms". The accompanist was Mrs. LuRay Neessen, who also played selected numbers for the prelude and postlude.

Grandsons serving as casket bearers were Jason Lindaman, Scott Siefken, Jerome Lindaman, Allen Jaspers, Jeffrey Meyer, Shane Meyer and Vaughn Jaspers.

The ushers were John Hoodjer and Herman Sietsema. Mrs. Norma Block, Mrs. Marlys Breneman and Mrs. Lois Primus were in charge of the floral arrangements.

Interment was in the Shiloh Township Cemetery, Wellsburg.

Alyce Lindaman was born on August 21, 1912, at Menlo, IA, and passed away at 1:18 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. She attained the age of 76 years, six months, and one day.

She was the daughter of Bert and Daisy Reeves Harlan. Alyce attended and graduated from the Wellsburg high school in 1930. She received her Teachers Certificate from the Teachers College in Cedar Falls and taught country school in Shiloh township.

On March 21, 1935, she was united in marriage to Harley B. Lindaman in Wellsburg. They lived all their married life in Wellsburg.

Her husband, Harley, passed away on October 12, 1959. After the death of her husband, she worked at various restaurants in Wellsburg and also did some baby sitting.

She was a long time member of the Second Christian Reformed Church and was also a Sunday School teacher. She was a Charter member of the "Helping Hand" and also the Wellsburg Federated Woman's Club.

She enjoyed being a homemaker and being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.

She is survived by one son, Robert E. Lindaman of Wellsburg; three daughters, Mrs. Roland (Ardythe) Siefken of Plainfield, Mrs. Alle (Virginia) Jaspers of Steamboat Rock and Mrs. Catherine Meyer of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two brothers, Earl Harlan of Lakewood, CA, and Joseph Harlan of DesMoines; one sister, Mrs. Willard (Wilma) Walker of Concord, CA; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harley; three brothers, Glen, George and Ralph Harlan; and two granddaughters, Linda Kay and Valinda Ann Jaspers.

The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
