Fred J. Spieker, 66, died Friday night at his home in Aplington of a heart attack.

Mr. Spieker was born Apr. 18, 1879, in German township, Grundy county, Iowa, the son of Jergen and Anna Spieker. On Mar. 3, 1904, he married Miss Martha Lindeman. He was a resident of Grundy county all his life until moving to Aplington five years ago.

He leaves the following children to mourn his death; Jerry, Allison; Henry and Fred, Ackley; Mrs. Louie Kreimeyer, Charles City; Mrs. Anna Stockdale, Dumont; Mrs. Myrtle Walbaum, Dike; Rudy, Aplington; Raymond, with the armed forces in Germany; Loretta and Ethel Mae, at home; 15 grandchildren.

His wife preceded him in death on Oct. 12, 1940.

The funeral will be on Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the home and at 2 o'clock in the West Friesland church southwest of Austinville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
