Services for Donald E. Beckwith, 73, Evansdale, formerly of Morrison, Iowa, were held Monday, June 19th, at the First Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck with Pastor Randy McGrady Beach, officiating. Burial was made in Washington Township Cemetery near Morrison with military rites conducted by Action Post 242 American Legion of Reinbeck with French-Hand Funeral Home of Reinbeck in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Beckwith died Thursday, June 6, 1996, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, of natural causes.

He was born May 14, 1923, in Morrison, a son of Edward and Nancy Wilson Beckwith.

He was educated in the Reinbeck Public School and on April 2, 1945, he was married to Virginia Lorenz at Alameda, Calif.

Don was a veteran of the U. S. Navy during World War II. He retired from the Amoco Fertilizer Plant in Reinbeck.

His parents; one brother, Edward; and two sisters, Eleanor Smith and Loretta Swanson, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia of Evansdale; one son, Donald Beckwith Jr., of Council Bluffs; three daughters, Nancy Moser of Waterloo; Carla Nash of Cedar Falls and Sharon McGrane of Kearney, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Herbert of Dike.
