Dike--Herbert L. Beckwith Sr., 66, of Dike, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital, Grundy Center, of natural causes; survivors include his wife, Eva Mae; a daughter, Carlyce Claassen of Holland; three sons, Darwin of Dike, Dallas of Florida and Herbert L. Jr. of Hubbard; three grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren; he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Donald; and two sisters, Loretta Swanson and Eleanor Smith; services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Reinbeck, with burial in Washington Township Cemetery, Morrison; friends may call anytime today and Friday at French-Hand Funeral Home, Reinbeck, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday; a memorial fund has been established; Mr. Beckwith was employed at Deere & Co. in Waterloo.
