SHIRK--In this city, on Saturday, May 23, 1885, Mrs. Susan Shirk, aged 75 years 5 months and 29 days.

Mrs. Shirk was a native of Franklin county, Pennsylvania, where she was married in 1828 and resided until 1854. In that year the family removed to the west, settling in this county. Seven of her ten children survive her. Mrs. O. P. Miles and J. M. Shirk of this city; Mrs. Dr. Haller of Lanark; John and Jacob Shirk, residing in Iowa and Kansas, respectively; Judge W. S. Shirk of Warsaw, Mo.; and Mrs. Geo. P. Perry of Sterling, Ill. The funeral occurred on Monday, and was attended by a large concourse of friends of the estimable lady. --Carroll County Herald, Mt.
