Our worthy County Auditor, C. W. Gibson, is very sick, and not expected to live. Dr. Crouse, his attending physician, has called Dr. Underwood, of Eldora, and Dr. Heffelfinger in consultation. We understand they have but little hopes of this recovery.

Owing to the severe illness of the County Auditor, Mr. Gibson, we are unable to get a copy of the proceedings for publication this week.

C. W. Gibson died this morning about 11 o'clock. Mr. Gibson was taken sick Monday afternoon, Jan. 5, but not thought very dangerous until the latter part of the week, when his physician became alarmed about him, and called council. Grundy county has lost a faithful officer and a highly esteemed citizen, and the bereaved family have the tender and heartfelt sympathy of the town and county in their sad bereavement.

The funeral of the late C. W. Gibson will take place next Saturday afternoon at one o'clock.
