This community was shocked last Monday morning by the sudden death of Harrison Combs at his home two miles west of town. He met his death on the morning of July 2nd by being thrown from his wagon in a runaway. He had hitched up his team to drive to Ackley and had a cow standing in the back of the wagon which brought the seat so far forward that when the team started to run he had no room to brace his feet. The team started to run and threw Mr. Combs to the ground from the seat on a double box. He survived only one hour, but was conscious though suffering terribly.
