Services Held for Anna L. Ackerman, 92

Anna L. Ackerman, 92 of Cheyenne Mountain Care Center, Colorado Springs, CO, and formerly of La Porte City, passed away Thursday evening, January 14, at the Care Center.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, at the First United Presbyterian Church in La Porte City.

Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Aplington.

Mrs. Ackerman was born on July 10, 1895, on a farm northeast of Wellsburg, the daughter of Henry and Anna Andreessen Hook.

She was united in marriage to Charlie Ackerman on October 5, 1917, in Wellsburg. The couple made their home on a farm southwest of Aplington for 22 years, at which time they relocated to a farm near La Porte City.

Her husband passed away on August 25, 1969. Also preceding her in death were one infant son in 1931, six brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Ila Colbert of Colorado Springs, CO.

The Huisman Funeral Home, La Porte City, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
