Fred Ackerman Died Last Week

A letter from Ben Riekena from Nihill, Mont., gives the particulars of the death of Fred Ackerman, whose widow, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jibbe Ross of Wellsburg, is reported very ill with scarlet fever, along with the children.

Mr. Ackerman had been sick since Christmas, but after a few weeks in the hospital at Harlowton, he returned home, feeling much better. A relapse took place however and last Tuesday week he died at the hospital where he was again taken. The funeral was held last Saturday.

The widow with her five children are down with the scarlet fever, and Evert Ross was sent for to help in looking after things there. The Ben Riekena and Fred Ackerman families live near Nihill.

Mr. and Mrs. Jibbe Ross will not be able to go, as it is a long distance for them to go, being almost 1400 miles from here.
