Gayl A. Cummings, formerly of Dike, died Monday, April 10, 2006 at the home of her daughter of cancer.

Gayl was born and raised in Dike, Iowa the daughter of Harold and Mae (Arends) Cummings. She lived in Stewartville, Minnesota for 25 years, Branson, Missouri for 15 years and Westfield New Jersey the last year and a half. A registered Nurse for 38 years, she worked at the Skaggs Community Hospital in Branson for 10 years, prior to that she had been at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for 25 years. She graduated from the St. Like?s Hospital School of Nursing in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Westfield.

Survivors include her daughter: Julie and husband Ron Kropp with whom Gayl lived; a son: Greg and wife Kathy Hammond of Loveland, Colorado; and three grandchildren: Brittney, Brendan and Connor Kropp.
