Vinton; Mrs. Sarah Stewart, 78, widow of James Stewart, native of Vinton, Tuesday at 4:30 p. m. at Lohr rest home, here; after a long illness.

Born Sarah Gordon Oct. 25, 1872, at Vinton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Gordon. She married James Stewart Mar. 21, 1895, at Traer. Her husband died Feb. 26, 1909.

The couple farmed near Reinbeck; she came to Vinton with children in 1916 from farm. She was a member of Methodist church.

Mrs. Stewart leaves four children, Mrs. (Nelle) Irmel Youel, Ft. Madison; Mrs. (Marietta) Harold Miller, Vinton; Mrs. (Sarah-Blanche) M. W. McBroom, Phoenix, Ariz. and Wesley, Bakersfield, Cal. Two sons, Gordon and Roger, preceded her in death; also leaves four brothers, George Gordon, Vinton; Cash Gordon, Vinton; James Gordon, Paradise, LA; Robert Gordon, Laguna Beach, CA.

Funeral 1:30 p.m. Friday at Fry Holland Funeral Home here; burial in Reinbeck cemetery
