GRUNDY CENTER — Leona Hohenberger, 79, of Ames, formerly of Grundy Center, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames.

She was born July 27, 1927, in Ackley, daughter of Albert and Justena Steinmeyer Meyer. She married Kenneth Hohenberger on June 20, 1950, in Grundy Center.

Mrs. Hohenberger graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1947, then worked at the Grundy Telephone Office for a number of years.

Survivors include: her husband; a daughter, Laura (Steve) Lillard of Nevada; and a granddaughter.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Nevada Baptist Church, with burial at 1:30 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center. Public visitation from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Bacon Funeral Home, Nevada.

Memorials: may be made to the church.
