Roberta A. Sires, 70, of Stout, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 25, 2000 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, of natural causes.
Survivors include four daughters, Christle Sires of Corvallis, Montana; Jan Weber and Candance Sires, both of Stout; and Tamera Miller of Aplington, Iowa; two sons, Vern Jr. and Patrick, both of Dike, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern, in 1973; three brothers, Kenny, Cletus and Norman Kemp; and a sister, Marcella Miller.
Private family services will be today at Dike Funeral Chapel, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Dike. Family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Dike Community Building.

Roberta A. Sires passed away July 25, 2000, at the Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo. Private family services were held on Thursday, July 27 at the Dike Funeral Home with burial in Elmwood Cemetery in Dike.
She was born Sept. 2, 1929, to Peter and Emma Schaefer Kemp in Waterloo. She married Vern W. Sires on July 2, 1949, in LaPorte City. Vern died in 1973.
She is survived by four daughters; Christle Sires of Corvallis, MT, Jan and Laverne Weber of Stout, Candace Sires of Stout, Tamara and James Miller of Aplington; two sons, Vern Jr. and Patrick and Laura Sires of Dike; 14 grandchildren, Yvette Larson, Jason Kopsa, Beau Greenley, Strabo Sires, Billie Dall, Lucretia and Miranda Weber, Clancey Freese, Jada and Blake Oakes, Jessica Niedert, Kara Sires and Ashley and Taylor Graves; one great-grandson, Jaden Greenley; and two sisters-in-law, Melda and Mary Kemp.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents, brothers, Kenny, Cletus and Norman Kemp, and one sister, Marcella Miller.
