ELDORA - Clyde L. Patterson, 69, of New Providence died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Eldora. Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the Liscomb Church of Christ with Rev. Helmer Peterson officiating. Burial was at the East Lawn Memory Gardens in Eldora. Memorial contributions may be directed to his family.

Clyde was born July 15, 1934, in Grundy County to John and Charlotte (Butler) Patterson. He was raised and educated in the Hardin and Grundy county area and attended Union High School. On March 5, 1955, Clyde was united in marriage to Shirley Morris at Liscomb. He was a patrol operator for Hardin County for over 41 years, retiring in February 1996. Clyde was a member of the Liscomb Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of New Providence; one daughter, Cathy Faris and husband Richard of Eldora; one son, Steve Patterson and wife Kelly of Whitten; four grandchildren, Whitney, Slade, Gavin and Sarah; one great-granddaughter, Jade; a cousin, Max Butler and wife Hildegarde of Eldora; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clarence.

Biersborn Funeral Home of Union was in charge of arrangements.
