GRUNDY CENTER—Kathryn Boelman, 77, of Grundy Center died of natural causes Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 28, at the First Baptist Church in Grundy Center with the Rev. Michael Nemmers officiating. Burial will follow at the Stout Cemetery in Stout. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 27, from 3-6 p.m. at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. Memorials may be directed to the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Kathryn was born Oct. 24, 1927, in Stout, the daughter of John and Katie (Petersen) Bruns. She attended Lear Grade School near Stout. On Nov. 21, 1949, in Austinville, she was united in marriage to Elmer Boelman. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she and Elmer were custodians for many years.

She is survived by her two sons, Stan and wife Paula Boelman of Luton, England, and Larry Boelman of Des Moines; step-mother Grace Bruns of Alden; two half-sisters; two half-brothers; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Elmer.
