The marriage of Miss May T. Kerr and Douglas C. Shuler was solemnized on Wednesday, the 7th inst., at the residence of Hon. Daniel Kerr, the bride's father. The day was a beautiful one, one of June's rarest, and could not have been more auspicious had it been ordered for the occasion. Shortly before the hour for the services the parlors were filled with the relatives and a few of the friends of the families of the bride and groom. At four p.m. the bridal party, preceded by Rev. D. W. McClane, the officiating minister, entered the room to the strains of the wedding march, which was most beautifully rendered by Miss Lura S. Shuler. The wedding ceremony which followed was very impressive, the parties themselves repeating the vows of marriage which united them for life, while the wedding ring was used to give added emphasis to the pledge taken. The supper which followed immediately after the congratulations, was served under the direction of a caterer from Cedar Rapids. Very shortly afterward the bridal party, followed by the hearty good wishes of all their friends, left Grundy Center for an extended wedding tour. The bridal presents were numerous, elegant and useful, and such as will be a constant reminder of the love which prompted them.
