Grundy County Couple Wedded

Two well-dressed, fashionably appearing couples called at the office of Clerk of the Courts S. M. Bentley shortly after 8 o'clock this morning. They were Robert Mastin and Boyce Mastin and Misses Lela Hasbrook and Lula Booht of Grundy Center. Robert Mastin and Miss Hasbroock had come for a license to wed, and the other couple had accompanied them as witnesses. The two couples came over from Grundy Center yesterday in an automobile. They called early at the court house so that the couple desiring to wed could get the necessary license, get the knot tied and get away on an early forenoon train on their honeymoon trip.

"Marrying Parson" Ties Knot.

When the couple inquired of the deputy clerk if there was a clergyman near he directed them across the hall to the county recorder's office, where Rev. George Knoche, the deputy, is authorized to solemnize marriage. The couples approached his counter gingerly, and the couple intent on being married, noticing three young ladies present, one an assistant in the recorder's office and two abstracters, asked Mr. Knoche if they could not go some place where there would be privacy. Anxious to please, the minister led the visitors to the court room, where, alone and only the measured, monotonous tick of the clock broke the silence of the large room.

Mr. Knoche is called upon to marry so many couples that he has won the appellation of the "Marrying Parson."

Mr. and Mrs. Mastin are well known Grundy county people, representatives of families who have lived there for many years, and their friends, when they hear of the wedding, will extend hearty congratulations.

The news of the wedding will come as a surprise to the friends of the pair.
