A service for Vivian Dillivan was held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2011, at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson, Iowa. Words of comfort were provided by Rev. Deb Griffin of Central Christian Church in Jefferson. The casket bearers were Kim Bates, Kent Bates, Vernon Bancroft, Steve Smith, Tim Collogan, and Pat Kirk. Music was provided by Marjorie Vannatta and Jerald & Cindy Deal. The Hymns were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "He Touched Me". Interment was at the Scranton Township Cemetery in Scranton, Iowa. Following the burial, a lunch and time of fellowship was held at the Central Christian Church.

Vivian Isabell Mallett, daughter of Samuel and Ethel Lewis Mallet, was born September 29, 1919, in Scranton, Iowa and died November 6, 2011, at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa.

Vivian grew up on a farm near Scranton and went to the Scranton School where she played girls basketball. She married Wendell Dwight Dillivan in Maryville, Missouri on March 11, 1943. They were proud parents of one son Dwight. They lived in Fort Lewis, Washington and came to live in Scranton following his honorable discharge from the military. They moved to Jefferson and lived there ever since. Vivian followed Wendell during his work in the summers where they lived in many different areas, coming home on the weekends to care for their property.

Vivian enjoyed reading a lot and had a collection of salt and pepper shakers and tourist plates. She was a member of Central Christian Church. Her 20 year old cat "Suzy Q" was her constant companion.

She is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband; brother, Duward Mallet; sisters, Kathryn Van Nover, and Margaret Turner.

Vivian is survived by her son Dwight Dillivan of Grand Junction, and brother-in-law Dale Van Nover of Wichita, KS. She is also survived by cousins: Pauline Johnson and Evelyn Bancroft.
