Funeral services for David BEINHART, who passed away December 14, at his home in this city, were held Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. EHRSTEIN. Music was furnished by the Methodist choir. Following the services his remains were taken to the old family home in Keokuk county for interment.

Grandpa BEINHART, as he was called by those who knew him during the last fourteen years, has been a familiar figure in Jefferson. He was of a genial, social disposition, and made many friends among us. He was a member of the Methodist church.

David BEINHART was born in Baden, Germany, May 8, 1821. He came to America when he was nineteen years old and settled in Pennsylvania where he remained five years. He then moved to Keokuk county, Iowa, where he resided until 1895, when he moved to Jefferson where he has since resided.

He was married to Louisa GEISS on May 4, 1847. To this union thirteen children were born, seven of whom are living as follows: Mrs. Izabell M. KELLER of Lincoln, Nebraska; Mrs. Katie KELLER of Hallem, Nebraska; Mrs. Polly SPELLMAN of Clay Center, Kansas; Mrs. Clara BOSS of Belegrade, Montana; Miss Ottilia BEINHART of Jefferson; David BEINHART of Kennewick, Washington; and George BEINHART of Tacoma, Washington.

His wife died January 17, 1877, and he has never ceased to mourn her. His death was caused by old age and disabilities attendant thereon. ----Jefferson Bee
