OBITUARY

James C. Wright

James C. Wright, son of Isaiah Wright, was born in Greene county, Iowa, December 18, 1859 and departed this life September 12, 1922.

He united with the Church of Christ in young manhood, always remaining faithful to his belief. He was united in marriage to Mary B. McClurg, May 20, 1883. To this union three children were born, Luther H., Mrs. Elsie Adamson and Mrs. Leona Toler. These with his wife, seven grandchildren, two brothers, Ed. and Lawrence, one-half brother, Charlie, one-half sister, Nettie, besides other relatives and a host of friends are left to mourn his loss. His sister Maude preceded him to that Great Beyond a few years ago.

He resided on a farm in Greene county until 1892 when he moved with his family to Des Moines, where he entered Drake University to prepare himself for a minister. About nine years ago he returned to his home on the farm, but still continued to preach the gospel until failing health forced him to give up this work. He was a devoted husband and father and died in the triumphs of a Living Faith.

Funeral services were conducted at Church of Christ at Scranton and his body gently laid to rest in Scranton cemetery.
