RALPH FLACK LAST RITES HELD TUESDAY

Funeral services were held from the Slininger Chapel in Jefferson at 10 a.m. Tuesday for Ralph E. Flack, 74, with the Rev. Frank G. Patterson, minister of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson, in charge.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Snyder sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Under His Wings," accompanied by Mrs. Curtis Wilson.

Casket bearers were Harold Flack, Paul Hurdel, Keith Wright, Alvin Flack, Byron Flack and Alfred Flack.

Interment was in Highland Township Cemetery.

Ralph Edward, the eldest son of Alfred Thomas and Mary Luella Andrew Flack, was born July 20, 1889 in Greene County.

He attended school in Bristol Township and Des Moines College. On June 5, 1912 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Knapper and they were the parents of one son, Cecil. They made their home on a farm near Farlin until 1955 when he retired and they moved to Jefferson to make their home. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1962.

He was a member of the Farlin Baptist Church.

He died suddenly at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, on December 7 , 1963, following an illness of several years, at the age of 74 years, four months and 17 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roy and Floyd. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Flack of Jefferson; three grandsons: Tom of Jefferson, Dennis of Ames, and Ted McMurry of Midwest City, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Mrs. John (Sharon) Raffensperger of Davenport; six great grandchildren, five sisters and four brothers: Lydia Hurdel, Laura Yeager, Ruth Wing, all of Rockwell City; Dewey Flack of Lohrville, Alva Flack of Jefferson, Alta Flack, Mary Wright and Ruby Flack all of Churdan; a large number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
