SAMUEL WILFORD ANDREW

Samuel Wilford Andrew was born in Calhoun county, Iowa, July 25, 1893, and died at the Jefferson hospital, Wednesday evening, April 10th, at the age of 24 years, 8 months and 16 days. He was united in marriage to Sarah Mantz, February 17, 1915. To this union was born two children, Zatha Pauline age 2 years and Marvin Durwood age two months. Besides his family he leaves to mourn his death, his father, Clayton Andrew, of Churdan; one brother, Earl Andrew, of Waterloo; three sisters, Mrs. Mae Howard, Mrs. Frank Outtrim and Miss Laura Andrew, of Churdan. His mother having preceded him to the great beyond, January 11, 1914, and one sister, April 11, 1916, and a brother who died in infancy. He gave his heart to God during the last day of his life and died peaceful and happy in the Lord. Wilford's illness was a short duration and but little hope was entertained for his recovery any of the time, yet physicans, loved ones and friends did all they could to aid in his recovery, but all to no avail. He answered the call and passed beyond the vail of pain and tears, into the realms of joy which passeth all understanding. The funeral service were held last Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, from the Baptist Church at Churdan. Rev. Frank Yearnd, of Jefferson had charge of the service. Interment was made in the Churdan cemetery.
