Died, at her home in Rippey, May 29, 1900, Mrs. Rebecca Allen, aged 62 years, 3 months and 23 days. Rebecca Morgan was born February 6, 1838. She was married to Archibald Allen, February 28, 1865. Six children were born to them, four of whom are living. She united with the M. E. Church when 18 years of age and ever since has tried to do her duty in the church and home and as a friend and neighbor. Her oldest friends speak highest in her praise. She was stricken with paralysis about two weeks ago and during her helplessness friends and neighbors did what they could to make her last days comfortable. Her children were all present when death came. The funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church on decoration day and were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Bunting of the M. E. Church. A large congregation gathered to pay respect to the dead and sympathize with the living. The interment was made in the Rippey cemetery.
