Alexander T. Cox was the son of William Preston & Mary (Stanley) Cox. He was born March 23, 1850 near Kellogg, Jasper County, Iowa and died February 10, 1923 in Enid, Garfield County, Oklahoma, and he buried in Scranton, Greene County, Iowa. He was married to Olive Jane Glenn.

Death of A.T. Cox
Funeral Services for Pioneer Resident Monday Afternoon

A. T. Cox, one of the old settlers of Enid died at his home, 210 North Jefferson Street, at 10 o'clock Saturday morning after a lingering illness. He was the father of Mrs. T. K. Vance & Mr. William P. Cox, both of this city.

Mr. Cox was widely known in the city and held in the very highest esteem by everyone who knew him. He came to Enid 20 years ago from Scranton, Iowa. His wife died several years ago and he has made his home with his son and daughter.

He was for years an elder in the Central Christian Church and one of the most zealous workers in that church while he had strength.

He was 73 years of age and had been in falling health for several years.

Funeral services will be held at Christian Church at 3:30 o'clock Monday afternoon and the body will be taken to Scranton, Iowa, to be buried beside his wife.

Here, Dies Saturday

A. T. Cox, father of William P. Cox & Mrs. T. K. Vance, of 210 North Jefferson, died Saturday after a prolonged illness. Mr. Cox is 73 years old and is widely and favorably known, having lived in Enid for the last 20 years. Mr. Cox came to Enid from Scranton, Iowa.
The funeral services will be held at the Central Christian Church Monday afternoon at 3:30. The body will be taken to Scranton, Iowa, to be buried beside his wife.
