LESTER WHITE OBITUARY

Lester White, a life-long farmer in this county, passed away at the Hamburg hospital Sunday, following a fast illness of eighteen days. He had been in failing health for a year and a half. In 1948 he held a farm sale and planned to quit farming, due to a break in his health, but because of improvement continued to farm this year. Death was due to a heart condition, which grew worse daily, following an attack in July.

Lester Millard Bray White, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.P.C. White, was born in Sidney, Iowa, July 27, 1891 and passed away in Hamburg, Iowa, August 20, 1950, at the age of 59 years and 24 days. He grew to manhood in the vicinity of his youth and received his education in the public schools of Fremont county. He engaged in farming in early manhood and continued in that occupation until his death.

He was married to Nellie Slusher, Sept. 10, 1913 and to them two children were born: Hubert of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Marguerite (Mrs. Jesse Dennis) of Colton, California. There are five grandchildren.

He was united in marriage to Edith May Webster of St. Joseph, Missouri, Nov. 30, 1942.

He is survived by his wife, Edith, his children and grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Virdie Barr of Riverton, Mrs. Chris Christiansen of Ridgeway, Missouri, Mrs. Harry Goodin of Sidney, other near relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 2:30 at the Shull Funeral Home in Riverton, conducted by Rev. Duane Manning. Burial was in the Riverton cemetery.
