OBITUARY

Funeral services for John Judd, who passed away Monday at an Omaha hospital, were held Thursday afternoon at Shull Funeral Home in Riverton, conducted by Rev. H.D. Butts of Anita, a former pastor. Interment was in the Riverton cemetery.

John Judd, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Judd, was born near Newtown, Missouri, Aug. 9, 1861 and passed away April 25, 1950, at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 16 days. His mother passed away when he was seven months old and he was cared for by his two grandmothers, who brought him to early childhood. He began to make his own way at an early age.

He came to Fremont County at the age of sixteen and spent the rest of his long life here, except one year, when he lived in Colorado.

He was united in marriage to Cora May Marvin and to them one son was born. The child lived only a few hours. Soon after his marriage he bought a farm south of Riverton. He followed farming continuosly until about a year, when his last farm was sold.

He and his wife united with the Methodist church in Riverton in 1917.

Survivors include fourteen nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Out-of-town relatives attending the services included: Mr. and Mrs. L. Judd, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Judd and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Judd of Lineville; Mr. and Mrs. John Wilson of Corydon; Mr. and Mrs. Perry Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson of Leon; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Livicks of Mercer, Mo.; Mr.and Mrs. Edgar Judd, Mrs. Isa Judd, Charles Judd, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Judd and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Judd of Newton, Mo.; Mrs. Ollie Otte of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Addison Otte and John Redd of Sidney; Lyman Otte of Gravity; Mrs. Evelyn Squire of Mt. Ayre; Mrs. Ethel Davis, Mr. and Mrs. O.D. Hart, Mrs. Ruth Ashmore, Mrs. Thurman Benefed and Miss Lillian Burton of Shenandoah.
