THOMAS H. BROWN

A wide circle of relatives were saddened Sunday with the news of the passing of Thos. H. Brown. He had been a familiar figure on our streets for many years and was known as a friend to all. He had been an active, successful farmer until ill health forced him to retire about eight years ago. He farmed extensively in the community which lies southeast of Hamburg and spent the years of his retirement in the Madison community, where he enjoyed the comforts of a modern farm house.

Thomas Henry, the son of Thos. Henry and Nancy Rowhuff Brown was born near Hamburg, Iowa, on March 12, 1881 and passed away at the Hamburg hospital, April 23, 1950 at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 11 days.

He spent his entire life in this community, where he received his education and attended the Methodist church and Sunday school. He was of friendly disposition and especially fond of children. He was known to have helped many young people. He never married. His parents, three brothers, five sisters, and three nephews preceded him in death. He is survived by two brothers, Zach Brown of Hamburg and and Nathan Brown of Srang, Nebr., twenty neices and nephews and many friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Rash Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. Cecil C. Latta, with burial in the Hamburg cemetery.
