VIRGINIA WORTHLEY
1942 - 2010

Virginia Worthley, 68, St. Joseph, died Saturday, October, 16, 2010, at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

Born March 27, 1942, in St. Joseph, she lived in Colorado for 30 years before returning to St. Joseph in 1972. Mrs. Worthley worked as a nurse for 40 years, 30 of which she worked at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

She was a a member of the Community of Christ Church. She was also a volunteer at Coleman Elementary School as a nurse and was awarded the Volunteer of the Year award in the 2009-2010 school year from the St. Joseph School District.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fordie and Eva G. (Ingram) White; and her son, Brian Quigley.

Survivors: her daughter Christine Barnett and husband, Paul, St. Joseph; her two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Anessia Barnett, both of St. Joseph; her sister, Carol Miller, Kansas City, Mo.; her brother, Jack White, LaGrange, Mo.; her best friend, Gwen Nagel, Arcadia, Neb.; two nieces and one nephew; and her dog, Curious.

Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home. Interment: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Mount Zion Cemetery, Hamburg, Iowa. Friends may call after 8 a.m. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
