Mrs. Leora E. Clayton Dies Suddenly

Leora E. Clayton, wife of the late R.A. Clayton, died at her home Sunday evening very suddenly. Her death was unexpected by her family and many friends.

Leora K. Roberson was born on July 9, 1886 near Rock Port, Missouri, the daughter of Hezekiah and Lucinda Roberson, who lived in Atchison county many years. H.O. Roberson was a native of Tennessee and his wife was born in Atchison county, the daughter of A.S. Noblitt, one of the pioneers of that county.

The deceased was married to Ralph A. Clayton on November 2, 1916, and to this union was born Ralph Junior, who passed away at the age of two years and nine months. She was a member of the Centennial Methodist church, near the home where she was born. While her life was devoted to her home and many friends, she was active in community affairs.

Her husband preceded her in death on December 2, 1944. She is survived by two brothers, Chas. O. and Berlie L. Roberson, both of Rock Port, along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosabella and Lulu and a half-sister, Mrs. Elmina Boettner.

Funeral services will be held at the Johnson Funeral Home Wednesday (today) at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Henry Teele, and interment will be in the Hamburg cemetery.
