FOREST DRESHER OBITUARY

Forest Elmer Dresher, the son of Martin and Quintilla Dresher, was born in Locust Grove township, Mar. 6, 1879 and passed away at his home in Riverton, Nov. 25, 1950, at the age of 71 years, 8 months and 19 days.

On Feb. 14, 1900 he was united in marriage with Murtie Martha Utterback and to this union eight children were born, Alfred Roy, who died in infancy, Meryl Dresher of Malvern, Vera Bennett of Thurman, Gladys Tillman of Tabor, Alice Cooper of Riverton, Martin Dresher of Tabor, Martha Israel of Percival and Forest E. Jr. of Iowa City.

His wife passed away Sept. 22, 1926. Other survivors are 17 grandchildren,6 great grandchildren, one half-sister, Mrs. Helen Tobin of Santa Monica, Calif. and his housekeeper, Mrs. Margaret White, who helped care for him during his lingering illness. Another half-sister, Mrs. Doris Nagel, preceded in death also.

Forest or "Frosty" as he was known to his friends, spent the greater part of his life in and near Riverton, farming. For the past year he had been ill with cancer and had been bedfast for the past four months. Knowing there was no cure, he bore his suffering quietly and patiently. On Oct. 19th he confessed his faith in Christ and joined the Methodist church.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church, Monday, Nov. 27, conducted by Rev. Duane Manning. Burial was made in the Mt. Zion cemetery.us
