Died From Burns
Catherine Elizabeth Fisher, the daughter of Mathes and Mary Fisher, was born in Frankfort, Germany, October 9, 1868 and passed away at the Shenandoah Hospital March 16, 1950, at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 7 days. Death was due to burns received in her home in Riverton.

On November 10, 1889 she was united in marriage to August Yonke. To this union eight children were born. She came to this country when a young woman, living in Baltimore and Urbing, Kansas, before coming to the Hamburg community, where she remained until ten years ago, when she went to Riverton to make her home with her two sons, Gus and James.

While in Germany she was a member of the Catholic church, since coming to this community she attended the West Mt. Olive church, northwest of Hamburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband and three sons, Charles, William and Edward. Those who survive are three sons, Gus and James of Riverton, Rudolph of Hamburg, and two daughters, Mrs. Albert Ward of Hamburg and Mrs. Calvin Vaughn of Shenandoah and Tommy Yonke of Hamburg, two grandchildren, Eula Tysor of Shenandoah and Tommy Yonke of Hamburg, two great grandchildren and other relatives in Germany.

Funeral services were held at the Shull Funeral Home in Riverton Saturday afternoon, with the Rev. Earl Melton in charge. Interment in the Hamburg cemetery.
