09 Nov, 1950"Pete" Jensen Killed in Auto Accident
N.P. Jensen, a farmer in this county for many years, was killed about 10 a.m. Sunday at the junction of Iowa Highways 64 and 71, when his car was struck by another car, as he drove onto 71. Mr. Jensen was thrown from his car and it is believed that the other car ran over his body, causing almost instant death. Mrs. Jensen received a broken collar bone and severe bruises and was taken to the Harlan hospital, where her condition was reported as poor, but she was able to be moved to the Hamburg Hospital, Monday, and she is now showing improvement. They were accompanied by a brother, Chris Jensen of Harlan and were enroute to Perry, Iowa, to visit a sister, Mrs. Anna Johnson. The brother was unhurt, except for a slight head bruise.
Funeral services for Mr. Jensen were held Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in Riverton, directed by the Shull Funeral Service and conducted by Rev. Duane Manning. Burial was at the Riverton cemetery. No obituary was available at the time the Reporter went to press.
