Cecil Cleek Dies
Cecil Cleek, a resident of this community for many years, passed away very suddenly Sunday, following a heart attack. He was taken to the Hamburg Hospital immediately following the attack, but was dead upon arrival there.
William Cecil Cleek, the son of Mrs. Effie and the late Kemper Cleek, was born in Gate City, Virginia, Nov. 1, 1901 and passed away in Hamburg, Iowa, June 18, 1950, at the age of 48 years, 7 months and 17 days. He moved to Iowa with his parents in early childhood and spent the remainder of his life here and in Missouri, where he worked as a construction operator.
He is survived by his wife, Gertie May Cleek, a son Robert D., a daughter, Mrs. Lavina Jean Heiner, a step-son, Cleo E. Cleek of Albany, Missouri; his mother, Mrs. Effie Cleek; three brothers, Howard, Glenn and Henry, and three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Minor, Mrs. Janie Pulliam and Mrs. Lulu Gray.
Funeral services will be held this (Wednesday) afternoon at the Rash Funeral Chapel at 3 p.m. conducted by the Rev. E. E. Kinglsley, with burial in the Mr. Olive cemetery.
