Word was received here last week of the death of Newt Jacobs on Tuesday, March 25 in a hospital in Los Angeles, Calif.

Mr. Jacobs was an early resident of Malvern and operated a cafe for many years and later a grocery store and meat market here for a number of years. He was an organizer and member of the town's first band and widely known in this vicinity.

He left Malvern for California in 1927 and has made his home there with his sister since then.
