Sherman P. Straight accidentally shot at Riverton, Monday night, by his stepson, Jack Marvin.  Died 29 Jul 1895, age 31 years, 8 months, 18 days.   (Utterback Cemetery stone reads: Sherman P. Stone, s/o J. H. and R. E. died 29 Jul 1895, age 31 years 8 months 18 days.)

A few years ago Leland Smith of Tabor, Fremont County, Iowa, abstracted obituaries from the Tabor Beacon newspaper. Tabor is on the county line between Mills and Fremont County, therefore the paper printed obituaries from both counties. These were later microfilmed by the LDS Church on microfilm #1491976.
