Mrs. Fred Roberts, who had been in a serious condition since her return from Iowa City some time ago, died at her home in Riverton Feb. 20.
Alice Idella, daughter of Lucy and Daniel Beam, was born in Riverton Nov. 28, 1880, and passed away at her home in Riverton Feb. 20, 1939, aged 58 years, two months and 23 days.

On June 22, 1901 she was united in marriage with Wm. McCluskey. To this union were born 3 sons; Bruce of St. Joseph, MO: Dale and Lynn of Omaha. Mr. McCluskey died March 13, 1918.
On Feb. 26 1919, she was united in marriage to Fred G. Roberts. To this union two children were born; a daughter, Marian, and a son, Arthur, both at home.

Mrs. Roberts leaves to mourn her departure her husband, five children and two grandchildren, four brothers, Marian, and Oscar Beam of Riverton, Ed Beam of Omaha and Asa Beam of Watertown, S.D.; three sisters; Eureka Marvin of Wethersford, Texas; Cora Chaney of Eddyville, Nebr., and Orpha Johnson of Tabor, and a host of other relative and friends, who will miss her greatly. A loving and devoted wife and mother, a kind and loyal friend. A helper in time of need, she was always ready and willing to share in the community and church work. She has passed her reward leaving a vacancy in the home and community which can not be filled.

Mrs. Roberts spent her entire life in Riverton. She was a member of the Baptist church until that church disbanded, when she transferred her membership to the Church of Christ, where she has always been a loyal worker.

Funeral services were held in the Riverton Church of Christ on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 22, 1939 Rev. J.D. Payne, pastor of the local Methodist church was in charge.

Crystal Comstock, Ruth Hess, Lloyd McCluskey and George Comstock assisted by Mrs. Ellis Broughton at the piano, sand the funeral hymns. Clifford Beam, Gene Hess, Elmer Roberts, Frank Amick, Dale Comstock, Millard Haning bore the casket to its final resting place in the Riverton cemetery.
