FLETCHER, Eliza (Burt) was born Sept 17, 1809 in Pittsfield, Berkshire Co., Mass. of New
England parentage. She was married in 1830 to William Thomas, and moved to Cambridge, PA.
From there in 1838, they removed to Michigan where Mr. Thomas died in 1841. In 1849, she was
married to Charles Fletcher, who died in Dec. 1879. Since that time, Mrs. Fletcher has made her
home with her daughter, Mrs. Stewart. She had 5 children, 4 of whom are living and are present
today: W. A. Thomas of North Bend, Wisc; Mrs. John Stewart, Elburn, Ill; D. T. Thomas,
Oskaloosa, Iowa; and H. B. Thomas of Tabor, Iowa. Mrs. Fletcher was the third child of a family of
9, of whom the oldest alone survives her, Mrs. Zenos Burt of Cambridge, PA, aged 88 years. The
remains were taken to Cambridge, PA for interment
