James,

Glad to hear from you! I searched census records for Grant and Osceola
Townships in Franklin County for 1856, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1885, 1895 and
1900. I recorded all people born in Ireland or with Irish surnames. I also
did Monroe Township in Butler County, just east of Osceola Township and Etna
Township in Hardin County, just south of Osceola.

The only person I have in my census records with a surname similar to yours
is John Meloy in Lee Township (just west of Grant) in 1885. He was 25 years
old and living with Robert Darrah as a farm hand.

Do you have any other names connected to Meally in that area?

Always Searching,
Dan Kiley
