POHL, HANSEN, LEFEVER, CARROLL

My great great grandfather was Hans Jacob Frederick Pohl who was born in 1853 in Denmark. His wife was Johanna Hansen who was born in 1854 in Denmark. They met and married in Franklin Co., IA. Their oldest son, Hans Sophus Jacob Pohl, was born in Franklin Co., IA in 1884 where they had their other children also. I don't know the parents of either Jacob or Johanna and would like to know about the group of people that came from Denmark and why they chose Iowa. I know they went to the St. John's Lutheran Congregational church in Latimer, IA, where most of the Pohl children were baptised. Hans Sophus Jacob Pohl married Inez Belle LeFever, daughter of James Monroe LeFever and Clara Ann Carroll in 1908 in Franklin Co., IA. Inez was born in Hampton, Franklin Co., IA in 1885. Her parents were from PA.

Any information on these families would be greatly appreciated.
