Veteran's Rites Are At Hampton
Hampton, July 1 - Funeral services for Benjamin F. Ferris were held at the J.W. Barry home Sunday morning at 9:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. M.B. Pringle. Burial was in the Hampton cemetery.

Mr. Ferris, who was 90 years old, was a Civil war veteran and an active member in G.W. McKenzie post, G.A.R.

His wife died several years ago. Mr. Ferris had been in good health until a week ago when he fell, fracturing his hip.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. R.L. Saley, Mrs. J.E. Dovey, Mrs. J.W. Barry of Hampton and Mrs. R.H. Cary, Glendale, Cal., and two sons, J.C. Ferris, Hampton, and E.W. Ferris, California.

Benjamin F. Ferris, 91, whose funeral services were held Sunday at Hampton, had been a resident of that city for 48 years.

He conducted a nursery there for 28 years, retiring from business 20 years ago.

He was a veteran of the Civil war and was in the government service in Mexico for three years after its close.

He was a brother of the late Sol W. Ferris whose son, Earl Ferris is owner of the Ferris Nursery company at Hampton.

Hampton - Benjamin F. Ferris, 90, is in a critical condition at the Lutheran hospital as a result of the fracture of a bone in his hip. Mr. Ferris is the father of Mrs. R.L. Saley, Mrs. J.E. Dovey, J.C. Ferris and Mrs. J.W. Barry, all of this city.
