Kenneth L. Anway
Services for Kenneth L. Anway, 70, Eldora, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 29 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora.
Mr. Anway died Sunday, January 26, 1992 in Des Moines.
Mr. Anway was born August 6, 1921 in Franklin County to Lewis L. and Pearl E. (Robinson) Anway.
Mr. Anway grew up and attended schools in the Geneva area and graduated from Geneva High School. Upon graduation, Mr. Anway worked in a greenhouse and served his country in the military for four years. After he was discharged, he was involved in the reserves.
He married Janice Newhall in Omaha and returned to Iowa where he started, owned and operated the Anway Flower Shop in Eldora. In 1975 he sold the business and engaged in farming.Mr. Anway as a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora, Past Commander of the American Legion, VFW and was also past president of the Eldora Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Anway served as an Eldora councilmember for 14 years, served on the fire department, was a member of the Pine Lake Saddle Club, past vice president of the State Floral Association and was a former member of the Eldora Kiwanis.
Mr. Anway was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife Janice of Eldora; sisters Evelyn Livengood of Hampton, Helen Winsor of St. Paul, Minn,; Irene Alderman of Waterloo, and several nieces and nephews.
Creps-Abels Funeral Home, Eldora, was in charge of the arrangements.
